A three-tiered tower with an onion-shaped dome, Balai Nobat or  Nobat Hall is a repository of instruments that belong to the Royal Orchestra. The nine piece ensemble includes serunai (flute), nafiri (a long trumpet), gendang (drum) and gong. The melodious nobat music is only played during royal ceremonial occasions such as inaugurations and weddings. Visitors can view Balai Nobat from the outside.
